The Black Genius Foundation
This non-profit organization celebrates and invests in the intellectual and creative genius of Black artists, arts professionals and arts organizations. In collaboration with the founder, I developed the visual brand guidelines, launch and social media campaigns.
Brand Development
The brand is focused on centering on highlighting the ideas and work of Black creatives that have worked to hone their crafts, develop creative communities, and push important dialogue in their work. The use of the serif typeface Guardi in the logo, grayscale imagery and a black and gold color scheme provide a consistent visual narrative that is celebratory, empowering, and future-focused.
Website
The website’s main goals are to provide an information database on the various grant opportunities, a portal for applications and fundraising, and then to stay up-to-date with the activities of the organization.
Social Media
In addition to sharing information about grants and fundraising, the social media campaigns provided an opportunity to highlight the Black geniuses throughout history that inspired the work of the organization or are working directly with the organization as ambassadors and mentors.
